Mulaku Bajji


Ingredients
  1. Bajji mulaku – 6 
  2. Gram flour - ½ cup
  3. Idily batter or rice flour – 2 tsp 
  4. Asafoetida powder (kaayam) – a pinch 
  5. Red chilli powder- ½ tsp
  6. Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Water
For stuffing
  1. Tamarind small lemon size ball
  2. Cumin powder- ¼ tsp
  3. Shallot – 3 (optional) 
Oil for deep frying

Method
  • Mix the gram flour, rice flour,chilli pow, turmeric pow, Asafoetida and salt with enough water ( dosa batter consistency) and keep aside for 20 -30 minutes. 
  • Grind tamarind, cumin pow, shallot and salt into a smooth paste and keep aside.
  •  Immerse the chillies in the hot water for one min. Slit the chillies length wise and remove half seeds. Stuff these chillies with the tamarind paste and keep aside for 15 mins.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Dip bajji mulaku in batter and deep fry till golden colour on both the sides.
  • Drain on paper towels and serve with tea. Enjoy :)
